Universal Prayers for Peace
Veda: ॐ असतो मा सद्गमय। तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय। मृत्योर्मामृतं गमय॥ ॐ शान्ति शान्ति शान्तिः ॥
Om! From evil lead me to good, From darkness lead me to light, From death lead me to immortality. Om! Shanti Shanti Shanti.
Veda: एकं सद्विप्राः बहुधा वदन्ति।
“Truth is one, sages call It by different names.” (Rig-Veda)
The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done; on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Universal Messages
Sri Ramakrishna: “As many faiths, so many paths.”
Sri Sarada Devi: “If you want peace, do not find fault with others. Rather learn to see your own faults. Learn to make the world your own. No one is a stranger, my child; the whole world is your own.”
Swami Vivekananda: “Each soul is potentially divine. The goal is to manifest this divinity within by controlling nature, external and internal. Do this either by work, or worship, or psychic control, or philosophy — by one or more or all of these — and be free.”
Hitopadesha: अयं निजः परो वेति गणना लघुचेतसाम् । उदारचरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् ॥
Those with petty minds account thus—“this (one) is mine” or “that (one) is his.” But for ones with broad-hearted character, the whole world itself is his own family!
